research and the arts

Really coming to come to grips with the whole idea of research through artwork....not so much in the way of coming up with actual answers to problems: more research in a abstract way....mining through into other peoples creative practice, engaging in a broader dialogue that is bigger than yourself and your own ambitions.
Knowledge and Art
  • define what is knowing?
  • What are different types of knowing?
  • Is knowledge enough?
  • What types of relationships define knowledge?
  • Is knowledge about factual understanding or is it about something deeper?
  • Is the pursuit of knowledge always proceeded by a need?
  • Can different knowledge systems be reconciled?
  • How do different types of knowledge interact?
  • what are the uses of knowing?
  • Does knowing inform knowledge?
  • Is there such a thing as pure infinite knowledge or is it really more of a fluid system or process dependant on subjective perspective of social groups and individuals.
  • What drives us to know?  Why do we need to know?
  • Is it an infinite quest, A foolish quest, Why bother even starting to know something, can the quest for knowledge ultimately toxic, when do we know enough?
  • Knowledge is not fixed it is a process.
  • Going through the process of knowing defines us being human “I think therefore I am”
